Hurricane Florence is still dangerous even though it has been downgraded to a Category One storm. The National Weather Serrvice says Florence has sustained winds of 90 miles per hour and is located about 50 miles off the North Carolina shore. Forecasters are still warning of a life-threatening storm surge and heavy rains that could cause flooding. Some parts of the North Carolina coast could see storm surge as high as eleven feet. On top of that, there could be rainfall totals of 40 inches or more.
