A REPUBLICAN BACKED OVERTIME BILL THAT'S BEEN IN EFFECT IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR FOR YEARS MAY BECOME THE LAW OF THE LAND.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: A VIRGINIA (RICHMOND) BASED EMPLOYMENT LAWYER SAYS SHE HAS NO IDEA WHY ANYBODY WOULD OPPOSE WHAT'S CALLED THE WORKING FAMILIES FLEXIBILITY ACT.   THIS BILL WOULD GIVE WORKERS WHO HAVE ACCUMULATED OVERTIME HOURS AT WORK THE COMP TIME IF THEY HAVE AGREED TO IT WITH THEIR EMPLOYER.    THE EMPLOYER WOULD THEN HAVE TO PAY THE EMPLOYEE TIME AND A HALF DURING THAT COMP TIME.    MICHAEL SAYS IT'S SOMETHING THAT GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES HAVE ENJOYED FOR A LONG TIME.   SHE SAYS IT'S A BILL THAT PUTS ALL THE CONTROL WITH THE EMPLOYEE.  IT'S IDEAL FOR SOMEONE WHO HASN'T BEEN AT THEIR JOB LONG ENOUGH TO ACCUMULATE VACATION TIME.  IT WOULD GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO TAKE TIME OFF BY WORKING OVERTIME TO ACCUMULATE THOSE DAYS OFF.   MICHAEL URGES VIRGINIA'S TWO DEMOCRAT SENATORS TO ACTUALLY READ THE BILL AND CHALLENGED BOTH TO FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.
