STORMY WEATHER IS HEADED OUR WAY. THE STORMS ARE MARCHING NORTH FORM THE SOUTH . NBC12.COM METEOROLOGIST ANDREW FREIDEN SAYS ALL PARTS OF THE STATE NEED TO BE CONCERNED. THE STORMS WILL ARRIVE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE STATE AROUND MIDNIGHT. THE BEACH AREA WILL BE AFFECTED THE LONGEST WITH THE STORMS NOT LEAVING UNTIL AROUND NOON OR 1PM THURSDAY. THE STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAIN, HIGH WINDS, HAIL AND POSSIBLY EVEN A TORNADO.

STORY DETAILS:  THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY RETURNS WEDNESDAY TO HANDLE VETOES AND AMENDMENTS, AND WILL GET YET ANOTHER CHANCE TO VOTE ON, AND LIKELY REJECT, MEDICAID EXPANSION.  THE GOVERNOR MADE ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO EXPAND MEDICAID BY ADDING IT AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE BUDGET.  HE ARGUES IT WILL GET MORE PEOPLE HEALTH INSURANCE, AND THAT IT'S FUNDED PRIMARILY FROM MONEY FROM THE FEDS.  REPUBLICANS ARGUE THE MONEY MIGHT NOT ALWAYS BE THERE, AND THAT THE STATE WOULD BE LEFT ON THE HOOK FOR FUNDING IT.  ADVOCATES FOR EXPANSION ARE RATCHETING UP THE PRESSURE, SAYING THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT EXPANDING, AND THAT IT IS CLEAR REPUBLICANS IN WASHINGTON DON'T HAVE THE VOTES TO DO AWAY WITH THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT.  PROGRESSVIRGINIA BROUGHT PEOPLE WHO GET COVERAGE UNDER EXPANSION TO RICHMOND TO SHARE THEIR STORIES, IN HOPES OF CONVINCING PEOPLE EXPANSION IS THE WAY TO GO.

STORY DETAILS:  THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY RETURNS WEDNESDAY TO HANDLE VETOES AND AMENDMENTS, AND WILL GET YET ANOTHER CHANCE TO VOTE ON, AND LIKELY REJECT, MEDICAID EXPANSION.  THE GOVERNOR MADE ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO EXPAND MEDICAID BY ADDING IT AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE BUDGET.  HE ARGUES IT WILL GET MORE PEOPLE HEALTH INSURANCE, AND THAT IT'S FUNDED PRIMARILY FROM MONEY FROM THE FEDS.  REPUBLICANS ARGUE THE MONEY MIGHT NOT ALWAYS BE THERE, AND THAT THE STATE WOULD BE LEFT ON THE HOOK FOR FUNDING IT.  ADVOCATES FOR EXPANSION ARE RATCHETING UP THE PRESSURE, SAYING THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT EXPANDING, AND THAT IT IS CLEAR REPUBLICANS IN WASHINGTON DON'T HAVE THE VOTES TO DO AWAY WITH THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT.  PROGRESSVIRGINIA BROUGHT PEOPLE WHO GET COVERAGE UNDER EXPANSION TO RICHMOND TO SHARE THEIR STORIES, IN HOPES OF CONVINCING PEOPLE EXPANSION IS THE WAY TO GO.
