A LIFE-SIZE CARDBOARD CUT-OUT OF VA CONGRESSMAN  BOB GOODLATTE BROUGHT OUT FOR A TOWN HALL - THAT THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN WAS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND.  MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE PACKED THE MEETING IN VINTON - TO EXPRESS THEIR CONCERNS ABOUT OBAMACARE AND THE ENVIRONMENT - AMONG OTHER THINGS.  GOODLATTE TOLD ORGANIZERS HE COULDN'T ATTEND - BECAUSE HE WOULD BE IN INDIA.  IN A STATEMENT - THE CONGRESSMAN SAYS "I ALWAYS MADE IT A PRIORITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PEOPLE I REPRESENT."

GOVERNOR TERRY MCAULIFFE HAS SOME CONCERNS ABOUT VIRGINIA'S BUDGET, BUT SAYS, OVERALL, HE'S PLEASED WITH THE WORK THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY HAS DONE ON IT.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: WHEN IT COMES TO THE BIG ISSUES LIKE EDUCATION, MENTAL HEALTH, AND OPIATES, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY DID A GOOD JOB ON WHAT THE GOVERNOR ASKED FOR.   THERE ARE STILL SOME CONCERNS ABOUT THINGS LEFT OUT IN THE BUDGET.   A DEAL APPEARS TO HAVE OCCURRED ON THE SPENDING PLAN WITH A FORMAL VOTE MOST LIKELY COMING ON FRIDAY NIGHT.   GOVERNOR MCAULIFFE SAID ON THE LATEST EDITION OF ASK THE GOVERNOR THAT HE'S HAPPY WITH PAY RAISES FOR TEACHERS AND COLLEGE EDUCATORS AND FOR STATE EMPLOYEES, BUT HE IS UPSET THAT MONEY IS NOT GOING TO THE STATE JAILS TO HELP WITH MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESSES.    MCAULIFFE SAYS THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE STATE'S JAILS WHO HAVE SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES---AND THE JAILS ARE NOT EQUIPPED TO HANDLE THEM.    MCAULIFFE IS ALSO UPSET THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TOOK OUT FUNDING FOR CYBER CAMPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS.  WITH A LOT OF OPEN CYBER JOBS IN THE STATE WITH HIGH STARTING PAY, MCAULIFFE SAYS IT'S A GREAT WAY TO KIDS TRAINED FOR THESE JOBS.  MCAULIFFE ALSO SAYS THEY WERE VERY POPULAR AND WERE SOLD OUT QUICKLY.    AFTER THE BUDGET IS APPROVED, IT GOES TO THE GOVERNOR AND THEN LAWMAKERS WILL BE BACK IN APRIL FOR THE VETO SESSION.
